About Us

The Skate Advantage initiative is driven by our core belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the freedom, confidence and sense of achievement that skateboarding can provide. Our mission is to make skateboarding accessible to everyone by removing barriers to participation and creating inclusive environments where people of all abilities can learn, progress and have fun.

At Skate Advantage, we proudly deliver inclusive and adaptive skateboarding programs designed to support participants with a wide range of physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities. We understand that every individual has unique needs, which is why our coaching approach is flexible, participant-focused and tailored to help each person succeed at their own pace.

As part of our commitment to accessibility, we now have two adaptive skate frames available within our program. These specially designed frames provide additional support and stability, allowing participants with mobility challenges to safely experience the excitement of rolling, turning and navigating a skatepark. The frames have opened up new opportunities for many participants to engage with skateboarding in ways that may not have previously been possible.

We offer both private and group adaptive skateboarding sessions, working with individuals, families, schools, disability service providers, support organisations and community groups throughout South East Queensland. Our programs can be delivered at local skateparks, community events, schools or at locations that best suit the needs of participants and organisations.

Beyond teaching skateboarding skills, Skate Advantage is about fostering social connection, building confidence, encouraging physical activity and creating meaningful experiences. We have seen firsthand the positive impact skateboarding can have on mental wellbeing, independence, resilience and community participation.

Whether you live with a disability, face barriers to accessing traditional sports, or are part of a community lacking social, physical or personally stimulating recreational opportunities, Skate Advantage is for you. Through inclusive coaching, adaptive equipment and a supportive community, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has the chance to discover the joy, freedom and lifelong benefits that skateboarding can offer.

Skate Advantage is changing perceptions of disability in skate parks by creating inclusive spaces where everyone belongs. The program is breaking down barriers, building confidence, and showing that inclusion is a visible and celebrated part of skate culture. It's inspiring to see the positive impact it's having on participants and the wider community.
